Let me get this right. You will pay me to live in Michigan, right? Right! Okay, I already live in Michigan, so, pay me! Ahhh, there is one catch. You have to live somewhere else, first!

Drat! I knew this was too good to be true.

There are some towns in the U.S. that want to pay you to move there – some as much as $20,000. According to data from MakeMyMove.com, some areas currently offering cash include Southwest Michigan.

The website Move To Michigan.org is seriously targeting Chicago folks that can work remotely. In other words, work for your Chicago company but in beautiful Michigan!

The website says, "Southwest Michigan is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Only 90 miles from Chicago, it’s an easy commute for anyone who loves to work in the big city but prefers to live in a beautiful coastal community. Known for its miles of sandy beaches, first-rate culinary cuisine and excellent schools, Southwest Michigan is a great place to raise a family.

The pandemic has made it even more clear that Southwest Michigan is the place to be. And today, we are putting our money where our mouth is. Introducing the Move to Michigan campaign."

The campaign incentivizes workers from Chicago to move to Southwest Michigan including up to $15,000 toward a new home and a choice of over $5,000 in additional perks to enjoy for your first year, such as an annual pass to the South Shore Rail line, car service to regional airports, athletic club membership, golf driving and practice range membership, and more!

It's been difficult for the large corporations in Southwest Michigan to find qualified talent, especially technology talent, so, up the offer and see which fish will bite!

Even though many have applied and applications are closed for the time being, they will open up soon, so, hey Chicago, come see us. You'll love it here!
