Seven Ponds Nature Center offers many opportunities to discover the wonders of the natural world. At 7:30 AM on Wednesday, June 5, the center will host Spring Bird Walk #4 at the Lapeer State Game Area. Both woodland and open habitats will be visited in search of nesting species, especially sparrows. The Game Area is an excellent place to view song, vesper, field and grasshopper sparrows. Indigo bunting, blue-winged warbler and brown thrasher are other likely sightings. Participants are asked to dress for the weather, bring binoculars and meet at the center. The fee for this program is $3.00. There is no charge for members. Call the center at 810-796-3200 for more information or visit the Seven Ponds website at sevenponds.org.
