Grand Blanc Residents Warned About New Phone Scam

Grand Blanc Police are warning residents about a new phone scam after receiving several complaint calls.

Several residents complained after receiving a call stating they won a gift card from a large-box store. After the announcement is made they won, the caller asks "Can you hear me?" and waits to hear conformation. After conformation is heard the scammers allegedly start a magazine subscription and bill the caller.

When the caller attempts to dispute the charge the scammer uses the "yes" response as conformation they wanted the magazine subscription.

Police are advising anyone who receives calls from scammers stating they just won a gift card to not answer any questions and hang up immediately.
