Grand Funk Railroad Were Huge 43 Years Ago

1970 was a big year Grand Funk Railroad their third album “Closer to Home” became the group's third gold record in one year.The collection reached #6 this week 1970. Plus they would have two sold out concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1970. The Flint band was hot property.

All the songs on the album were written by Mark Farner including the classic “I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)”.
