Visit Grand Haven This Summer for Sand Sculpture Contest

Sandcastles are a fun family project for kids and adults alike on a beach trip. But for some people, it's more than casual fun that they'll leave behind to wash away at the end of the beach day. If you live in Michigan, you may have gone to one of the beaches on the beautiful Great Lakes and tried to make a sandcastle.

And if you've found that you or someone you know has a talent for building sculptures out of sand, there's an event in West Michigan you won't want to miss, brought to you by the Grand Haven Chamber.

Grand Haven Sand Sculpture Contest Dates

Get ready for the next big family fun event at Grand Haven City Beach as the Sand Sculpture Contest 2023 in Grand Haven returns on Saturday, August 12th, 2023.

Whether you are a sand-sculpting veteran or have never been able to make anything more than a pile of sand with a flag stuck on top, this event is for you. For instance, is this a Hershey's Kiss? It doesn't matter. Because, as you can see by the looks on this young team's faces, they are having fun! And that's the whole point, right?

Contest Rules

To kick things off, all participants are given 2 hours to create their masterpiece before celebrity judges observe their work and crown the newest royalty of the beach for the day.

Final registration takes place 9:00-9:30am, with the full event's hours scheduled from 9am-1pm.
