A fundraising event is taking place Friday, March 8, Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10, at the Great Clips location in Imlay City to help the Keith Kelley and Krystal Whitney Family. Great Clips will donate $5 from every haircut on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the family to help with their expenses and future needs. No appointment is necessary.

Great Clips is open from 9 AM to 9 PM on Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday and is located at 1797 South Cedar Street next to GNC Nutrition Center in the Imlay Kroger Plaza. The phone number at the hair salon is 721-1100.

The youngest survivor of the fatal fire that broke out in the family's Imlay City mobile home on February 26 is showing signs of improvement officials said Friday. According to police, 19-month-old Keyshawn Kelley has been taken off life support and is breathing on his own. The boy's father, Keith Kelley, is still listed in critical but stable condition and his mother, Krystal Whitney, is in stable condition.

Four children died in the fire — Keyairah Kelley, who was 29 days old, Keyanna, 3, Keyondre, 5, and Keith, 6. All died of smoke inhalation according to authorities.
