Hard To Believe It’s Been 29 Years Since The First Farm Aid

It was today September 22, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois, that the first Farm Aid happened. Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, and Bob Dylan with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers where there to kick off the now famous yearly concert to help out the family farms across America.

Last weekend (9/13), Farm Aid 2014 saw 20,000 fans show up at the Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina to show their support of family farmers.

Having a family farm myself and seeing things first hand when it comes to saving the small farmer from the crush of corporate farms. A big thank you to Neil Young,Willie Nelson,John Mellencamp,Dave Mathews and all the musicians involved with Farm Aid.
