Governor Whitmer shared the news on Tuesday and thanked the furniture giant for their generosity.

The Swedish company has one Michigan location in Canton.

The COVID-19 Response & Recovery Initiative is a fund set up to provide resources to help with necessities due to the pandemic, such as food and water, education, and PPE. Anyone can donate to the fund whether it be monetary or material items (ventilators, PPE, sanitizer). Get more info here.

IKEA wasn't the only big business to step up. Ford Motor Company is also committing to donating 1.5 million masks to low-income schools, the city of Detroit, health centers, various COVID-19 testing sites, and other organizations who need the support.
