Is It True? Popyeyes And Possibly Pita Way Coming To Lapeer

Update: 11/2/21 4:30 PM. I did hear back from a Pita Way spokesperson. I will have more information at the end of this week, or early next week.

Word on the street is Popeyes Louisiana Chicken will be opening in Lapeer, and I also heard a rumor about Pita Way opening in Lapeer as well. I cannot confirm of deny that PW is opening, but I sure hope so - Pita Way food is awesome. I reached out for a comment, and will let you know what I hear back.

Last month The County Press reported that the Lapeer Planning Commission approved a rezoning request for a 4.5- acre parcel on M-24 sought by a developer in order to build a drive-thru Popeyes. I want to clarify, the only place I have read about a possible Pita Way is on the Lapeer News and Discussion Facebook page. I for one am hoping it is true. Pita Way serves Mediterranean food, it is super fresh and delicious. If you have yet to try them, they have multiple locations already. They are as follow,

• White Lake
• Brighton
• Lake Orion
• New Hudson
• Livonia
• Troy
• Commerce
• Grand Blanc

As far as Popeyes goes, they have multiple locations as well. As far as I know, the Miller Road location in Flint is the closest one to Lapeer (for now anyways). I love the Popeyes Original Chicken Sandwich. Many of you will remember when the Flint location first opened, the place was packed! The drive through was backed up on Miller Road forever it seemed. I have a feeling the Lapeer location will be the same way upon opening.

I love seeing more businesses opening in Lapeer. New stores, shops, and restaruants mean more job opportunities. It's a total win win for owners, workers and of course customers.
