Border Agents Seize $32M In Cocaine Near Canada-Michigan Line
Two major border busts had agents seize over $32 million in cocaine crossing into Canada from Michigan.
Port Huron, Michigan, gets a lot of semi truck traffic for both America and Canada. A couple of Canadian drivers attempted smuggling loads of cocaine back to their Canada, but border agents put a stop to that.
Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron
Since 1938, the Blue Water Bridge has been a major border crossing for American and Canadian goods. To make the crossing more effective, in 1997 a second eastbound bridge was opened to handle the increased traffic between the two countries.
The majority of vehicles that cross the Blue Water Bridge are semi trucks hauling goods in either direction, and the rest are tourists or folks that work on either side of the American/Canadian border.
Most all who cross the Blue Water Bridge are honest and just trying to do their job and get to the other side, but when you have a major border crossing, there are always those criminals that are willing to take the risk by doing something illegal.

$40M In Cocaine Seized At Michigan-Canada Border Crossing
According to WOOD TV, two different Canadian truck drivers attempted to cross the border from Michigan to Canada in August, and were caught with large amounts of cocaine hidden in their semis.
On August 13, a semi was stopped after crossing the Blue Water Bridge by Canadian border agents who seized 150 kilograms of cocaine valued at nearly $19 million.
The day after the first bust, a second semi driver tried to smuggle 199 kilograms of cocaine and the Canadian border patrol stepped in for a second bust.

Both men have been charged for smuggling and possession of cocaine and are looking at life in prison.
