Do you remember in the 1990s when some Michigan State Police officers were driving Chevy Cameros? One MSP post still has one in operation.

I have been lucky enough to travel in most of the lower 48 states as a traveling musician and I have to say the Michigan State Police have some of the most unique patrol vehicles on the road in the country.

The MSP refers to their vehicle color as "Blue Goose." Depending upon where an MSP post is located, officers may drive sedans, SUVs, trucks, and motorcycles.  Each year the MSP tests a dozen vehicles to see what new brand may wind up in its lineup. In the 90s the MSP enlisted the Chevy Camaro and one is still on the road.

Is it bad that recently a co-worker showed me a video of a '90s Chevy Camaro and I recognized the Michigan State Police post before anyone said where the car was located? I have done a lot of driving in this state and this post is one I have driven by hundreds of times though I don't know anyone in that town, and no I wasn't arrested there either. Lol.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, in September 1992, the Michigan State Police tested two of the B4C Chevy Camaros which came standard with the Corvette's LT1 tuned port fuel-injected 5.7L V8 engine. There is still one in service at the MSP post in White Pigeon, Michigan, alongside U.S. 131. If you would like to see the video of the Camaro click here.
