The Michigan State Police announced this week that they are reopening the decades-long missing person cold case of Cassandra Durham.

Cassandra has been missing since August 1987.

According to officials and the FBI's official missing persons website, she and her boyfriend, identified only as having the initials "E.B." were traveling from Maryland to Michigan to visit her boyfriend's grandparents near Roscommon.

Michigan State Police say that the couple set out on their journey in a 1980 Honda Civic station wagon, and it's believed that they made a stop at Cedar Point along their journey. According to police, that Honda Civic broke down in or around Detroit, and the boyfriend purchased a different vehicle - an Oldsmobile Cutlass (year unknown.)

The Disappearance of Cassandra Durham

So far, nothing seems out of the ordinary. But, following the trip, when Cassandra's boyfriend returned to Maryland, she was not with him. While the boyfriend claims that they both returned to Maryland, Cassandra's father says that she never made it home.

She hasn't been seen since.
