This Michigan Haunted Attraction Operates Inside of A Haunted Abandoned Prison

Seeing as it is spooky season, we have to get ready for one of our favorite Halloween traditions, and that is haunted houses. Michigan has long been known as one of the best states for haunted houses and there are a number of them that are well known. On the west side of the state, you have Jackson’s Underworld.

Over on the east side of the state you have Erebus, which is a haunted house of terror that is usually located in Pontiac. Over in Boyne City, they have a zip of terror, which is zip lining in the dark. Exit 13 in Mount Morris is also a very popular destination as well, along with the Scream Machine, and Abandoned Acres Farm haunted attraction.

The list can go on and on, but there is one haunted attraction in the town of Free Soil that has some legitimate creepy history as Lost in Michigan detailed in their recent Facebook post:

Just a few miles east of Free Soil and northeast of Ludington, you'll find a sizable building enclosed by a barbed wire fence. The name CAMP SAUBLE is prominently displayed above the entrance. This facility was once part of Michigan's state prison system, serving as a camp for at-risk youth. Built in 1960, it was shut down in 2005 and now operates as a haunted attraction called Cages of Carnage.

Cages of Carnage is about to celebrate their opening weekend of the 2024 season. This may legitimately be the scariest setting for a haunted attraction in the entire set. How do you distinguish a real ghost from the attraction?
