Flint police recently made a shocking discovery as they recovered 64 animals that were living inside a house, where 27 had already died and were placed in garbage bags.

The Flint Township Police Department had a search warrant for a home, and they did not hold back in explaining just how sickening the environment was.

They claim that the atmosphere within the home was overwhelming with filth and that the air was filled with death and toxicity.

They even said ammonia levels inside the home were at a hazardous level, meaning the officers' eyes and lungs were burning just from being inside, and they had to take shifts to get the job done.

That’s when they made the horrific discoveries they did.

61 dogs and 3 cats were found alive in that environment, surrounded by piles of feces, rotting furniture, and air quality that no living creature should be forced to endure. Then there were the others. 26 dogs and 1 cat were found dead. The deceased animals were found inside trash bags near the front door as if they were garbage waiting to be taken out. Lives reduced to trash bags.

As for the officers, they delivered a strong message to those who can help just by speaking up:

This was prolonged suffering. We documented everything and removed every living animal through conditions that were physically revolting and emotionally draining, because those animals had no one else in that moment. Today was hard. But today, suffering stopped.

Hats off to the Flint Township Police Department for working in those conditions to rescue those animals.  Genesee County Animal Control was also on the scene, and they were able to take the animals in and help with the rescue efforts.
