Michigan Tattoo Shop Named One of the Best in The U.S.

Michigan is home to numerous tattoo shops. As a matter of fact, you'll find well over 500 tattoo shops throughout the state.

You'll find killer tattoo shops in Flint, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and everywhere in between.

To say one tattoo shop is best is a really bold statement as there are so many talented artists and fantastic shops throughout the state. However, Far & Wide compiled a list of the 35 best tattoo shops in the U.S., with one Michigan shop making it in the top 10.

Coming in at #6 on the list is North Main Tattoo Studio in Plymouth. This shop is home to owners Jay Wheeler and Aaron Ruby who opened the shop, which employs some of the city's best artists. Not only is it a tattoo shop but it's also an art gallery that features works by local and international artists.

It's unclear how Far & Wide conducted their study to find the best tattoo shops in the U.S. but you can see the results and all 35 tattoo shops that made the list in 2023 on their website. Spoiler: Bang Bang in New York City which has more than 25 artists is the number-one tattoo shop in the U.S.

It's strange to think that tattoos used to be taboo and even illegal in parts of the country at one time. Now, tattoos are so mainstream, that it's hard to find someone who doesn't have at least one tattoo.
