Heads Up, Grand Blanc—Center Road Will Be Shut Down For Months
Construction in Genesee County is in full swing, and you can now add another major project to the list—this time in Grand Blanc.
If part of your daily commute includes Center Road between Hill and Saginaw, you're not going to love this. A major construction project is about to shut that stretch down. Don’t freak out. It’s not the end of the world, but you will need to give yourself some extra time as you're forced to take a detour for the next few months.

Center Road Construction Project in Grand Blanc
According to the Genesee County Road Commission, the Center Road bridge between Hill and Saginaw is getting a full reconstruction. Crews will be out there starting Monday, July 7, and the road will be completely closed to thru traffic. We’re talking a full-blown shutdown—no sneaking through.
The detour will take you from Center to Hill to Saginaw (or the other way around, depending on where you're headed). It’s not the worst detour in the world, but it’s definitely going to slow things down a bit, especially during peak hours.
When Will the Center Road Construction Project End?
If everything goes according to plan (and that’s always a big if when it comes to road work), the project should be wrapped up by the beginning of October. So yeah, we’re looking at a few solid months of detours, slower commutes, and probably a few choice words yelled inside your car.
Construction sucks, no doubt about it. But hey, we live in Michigan, and our roads need all the help and repairs they can get. Be patient, my friends.
