Currently, the great state of Michigan is the Guinness World Record holder for the world's largest snowball. The record, as it stands now, is held by the students of ASME Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. Those students created a snowball on March 29th, 2013 that had a diameter of 10.45 feet and a circumference of 32.94 ft.

I've built some monster snowballs in my life and honestly, I don't think that would be that hard to beat. All you would need is a bunch of strong friends and a pretty large field covered in snow. A couple of cases of beer and some hand warmers and this is so possible.

If you are not a winter person, there are several other Guinness World Records in Michigan that are just waiting to be broken. Those include:

  • Largest Ball of Lint - 689.98 pounds held by Dryer Vent Wizard International
  • Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Cartoon Character - 2 hours 46 minutes 40 seconds held by Edward Ditmyer
  • Longest Marathon Playing Laser Tag - 26 hours 40 seconds held by 16 Michiganders
  • Fastest Stair Climb Up a 100 Story Building - 11 minutes 23.8 seconds held by Dennis W. Martz
  • Most Vertical Rotations of a Toothpick Using the Mouth in One Minute - 50 total rotations held by Pete Carpenter
  • Most People Performing Jazz Hands - 477 people held by Rosewood Elementary School

Good luck and go get a new record!
