Hey McFly! How Gullible is Michigan Compared to Other States?
Just how gullible is Michigan compared to the rest of the nation?
We all know that one person that just makes you sit back and wonder "how have you survived this long?" That gullible person that will believe pretty much anything you say. We have a lot of those people in Michigan, but how does the state compare to the rest?
Just recently, MRO Electric, located in Cary, North Carolina, decided to conduct a survey on gullibility. Their survey was based around myths and urban legends to see which Americans fell for them and from which state.
According to their survey, the list below shows the most widely believed myths in the United States. The percentage listed after the myth is the percentage of Americans who believed that myth.
- Believes one of the best methods for drying a wet phone is putting it in rice - 78%
- Believes sugar makes children hyper - 72%
- Believes urine helps relieve pain after being stung by a jellyfish - 55%
- Believes mama birds will abandon their babies if they've been touched by a human - 39%
- Believes that people swallow multiple spiders each year - 33%

Most Gullible States
With all of that said, which state is the most gullible state in the nation? Well, that honor goes to good 'ol Mississippi. Following the Magnolia State in gullibility are Arkansas, North Carolina, Maine, and Iowa.
What about Michigan? The Mitten falls into the "A Little Gullible" category on the list coming in at #14 in the nation. What makes the news even worse is that Michigan is more gullible than Ohio. Only by a hair, but it still hurts. Ohio ranked #15 on the list.
