Kin Thai Cuisine in Lapeer Supports Families in Need
As SNAP benefits in Michigan are affected by the government shutdown, another Lapeer County restaurant is stepping up to assist families in need.
From Saturday, November 1st through Saturday, November 8th, 2025, Kin Thai Cuisine in downtown Lapeer is spreading a little extra joy by offering complimentary vegetable fried rice to all children.
This is a wonderful way to give back and support families in the community who may be in need.
Restaurants throughout Lapeer County have shown incredible generosity, stepping up in amazing ways to support local families and make a real difference in the community.
Earlier this week, Woodchips BBQ provided 200 free carry-out chicken dinners to people in need.
Beginning November 1st, 2025, Krave Restaurant is offering one free meal per day to Lapeer children. Families just need to present a SNAP card to share in this generous community gesture. For more information on this awesome act of kindness, click here.
E.G. Nicks, also located in Lapeer, recently made a very thoughtful monetary donation to the Stone Soup Food Bank to support their SNAP food tote program.
We at E.G. Nick’s are doing our part to help those who will be impacted by the SNAP program shutdown. Maryanne Macleod is the business development director at Stone Soup Food Bank. They are developing a specific SNAP food totes for those in need. $3000.00 directly for that program. It’s small business that fuels the community.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the Lapeer businesses mentioned above for making such a meaningful difference in the community.
