Is winter outdoor dining already becoming a thing of the past? That just might be the case as one restaurant in Lapeer is selling all three of its igloos.

The igloo trend took off during the early months of the pandemic. It was a fun way for people to enjoy an evening out in a safe and somewhat secluded way. Even after the pandemic people still enjoyed the outdoor dining experience.

Why Is the Lake Inn Selling Their Igloos?

It's unclear as to why the restaurant is selling its igloos. There are a number of factors that could have led to the decision. It's possible they weren't generating the revenue that they once were. Maybe it was too much of a hassle setting up and tearing down twice a year. Lack of storage may have played a role as well.

I always thought it was cool when restaurants would offer that outdoor winter dining experience but maybe it just ran its course. I wonder if we'll see more Michigan restaurants follow their lead.
