Michigan Girl Shines on The Kelly Clarkson Show
A Michigan girl on a crusade to clean up Muskegon was recognized nationally on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Zoey Tice, 11, alongside her grandmother, shared how she has been picking up litter along the roadside and has even partnered with the city commissioner to launch a community-led effort to keep her city clean and trash-free.
Kelly Clarkson asked Zoey what inspired her to start this cleanup effort. Zoey shared that when she was just 7 years old, she saw a bird pick up a cigarette butt and place it in its nest, which was all the motivation she needed to start cleaning up the streets.
Zoey's grandmother admitted she was initially concerned when Zoey started picking up trash without wearing gloves. But that quickly changed. Now, every time Zoey and her grandma go for a walk, they bring along gloves and trash bags to safely clean up their community together.
As you can imagine, Kelly Clarkson and the live audience were quite impressed.
Zoey hopes to encourage kids of all ages to get involved and make a difference by standing up for the causes they believe in. She wants others to know that you are never too young to create change.
