A popular food website says Michigan’s best sub sandwich is in the Upper Peninsula - if you are up for a road trip, head to Marquette.

That is where you will find Togo's. The spot has been open since 1964, and they must be doing things right - because Love Food claims they are the best place to get a sub sandwich in the Great Lakes State.

As you will see in the videos below, the subs do look good.

This is what Love Food had to say about Togo's,

The bread rolls are made fresh each morning and provide the perfect starting point for the range of sub sandwiches on the menu. Try the chicken bacon ranch heaped with perfectly seasoned chicken, crispy bacon, and even crispier lettuce, all drizzled with house-made ranch dressing.

The Chicken Bacon Ranch sub sounds delicious, but so does the Weapon of Mass Destruction sub, which includes grilled shaved ribeye steak, Genoa, capicolla, mortadella, cooked salami, provolone and American cheese, mushrooms, fried onions, and green peppers.

From hot pastrami subs to sloppy joes and classic ham, bologna, and salami subs, Togo’s seems to offer something for everyone.

Let’s be realistic - most people, myself included, are not going to make it to Marquette to try one. It is what it is. If you get a chance to visit Togo's, by all means go - and please report back.

When it comes to accessible sub sandwich shops in the Lower Peninsula, where is your go-to spot?

I'll go first - Big John's Steak & Onion. Bring on that classic steak and cheese sub.
