This may be one of the funniest police chase stories that I've ever heard.

Early Wednesday morning, a woman driver on Detroit’s east side led police on a chase that felt more like a lazy Sunday cruise. We’re talking 15 miles per hour, and it went on for over an hour.

According to WXYZ, it all started when officers tried pulling the woman over for improper plates. Instead of stopping, she just kept rolling, circling through neighborhood streets like she had nowhere else to be. Have you ever tried to drive somewhere going 15 mph? It’s so slow that it’s almost impossible to do.

Witnesses said the woman passed by the same parking lot multiple times. One resident said nearly a dozen police cars chased her through the streets with sirens blaring as they all circled the same spots over and over.

One witness hysterically said it was like Grand Theft Auto with a Detroit background in slow motion. He also said it almost reminded him of the O.J. Simpson chase, with people coming outside to watch and even cheer the woman on.

The driver passed by the witness several times, and another person said they watched the suspect go by the same parking lot again and again. And yes, police cars were right behind her the entire time, with nearly a dozen involved at one point.

The woman was finally taken into custody later that evening. Yes, that evening. She wasn’t arrested right away because, at some point, she stopped the car and took off on foot. After driving 15 mph with nearly a dozen cops behind her, she somehow got away. You can’t make this stuff up.

The video, which shows the driver being chased and the witnesses giving their two cents, is an absolute must-watch.

So, who do you call? If you hit one of these animals, you’ll want to contact the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) or local law enforcement.
