The wait is almost over. Starlite Diner & Coney Island in Burton is getting closer to reopening. Well, sort of soon anyway.

Back in August, we told you how Starlite was forced to shut down both of its Burton locations. It was one of those situations where everything just seemed to go wrong at once, and honestly, they caught a pretty rough break.

What Happened to Starlite Diner in Burton

Starlite’s location on East Court Street had to close briefly after an electrical fire. That was nothing compared to what happened at their Center Road location. If you remember, some guy plowed into the drive-thru, and yeah, the damage was pretty significant. The wall was destroyed, and the kitchen was basically a total loss.

At the time, Starlite’s owners thought it would only take a couple of months. Unfortunately, it’s taking a little longer than planned.

When Is Starlite Diner & Coney Island in Burton Reopening?

According to a recent post on their new Facebook page, Starlite Diner & Coney Island plans to reopen the first week of January 2026.

It’s honestly great to see a restaurant that’s been around for 60 years not only survive but bounce back. That doesn’t happen nearly enough around here.
