A TikTok Cooking Star Is Opening a Food Stand at the Flint Farmers’ Market
If you’ve spent any time on TikTok watching quick, straightforward cooking videos, there’s a good chance you’ve come across The Golden Balance. And if you haven’t, just know this: more than 8 million people are watching what he cooks, and for good reason. It all looks incredible.
Now he’s bringing that food straight to the Flint Farmers’ Market.

Ahmad Alzahabi, a Flint native and Carman Ainsworth grad, is opening a new food stand called Golden Boy’s inside the Flint Farmers’ Market this February. According to MLive, it’ll be set up in the center aisle, taking over the spot where Ichi Lucky Cat Sushi used to be.
Despite the massive online following, this isn’t some flashy influencer food concept. Alzahabi built his audience by keeping things simple and realistic. Meals that don’t feel intimidating and overwhelming, don’t require a grocery list a mile long, and actually fit into real life. It’s really about making food feel doable, even for everyday people like me who aren’t exactly confident in the kitchen, but still want to make something good without ordering takeout.
What Will Be On the Menu at Golden Boy’s?
The menu will feature a mix of his most popular online recipes along with a few items created specifically for the market.
For Alzahabi, it all feels pretty full circle. He grew up here, went to school here, and has been using the Flint Farmers’ Market for ingredients long before TikTok made him a household name. It’s hard to find a more Flint story than that.
When Will Golden Boy’s Open at the Flint Farmers’ Market?
Golden Boy’s will be open Saturdays in February, then add Tuesdays and Thursdays in March.
Fun fact: If he looks familiar beyond TikTok, that’s because Alzahabi has also appeared on Food Network’s Chopped, competing against other social media cooking creators.
