Music sensation Jelly Roll performed for inmates at the Genesee County Jail in Flint, Michigan in December 2023. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson recently shared a video of the performance.

The popular sheriff also shared a video of his speech from the event, as well as footage of Jelly Roll speaking and handing out diplomas to I.G.N.I.T.E graduates.

The mission of I.G.N.I.T.E is as follows,

To reverse the cycle of generational incarceration through education. Educating inmates has numerous benefits that help reduce recidivism and make the community safer.

By providing inmates with valuable job training, they are equipped with skills they can use upon release to gain meaningful employment and reduce their likelihood of reoffending.

Another video shows Jelly Roll getting a haircut from a Genesee County Jail inmate who just graduated from the barber program.

Jelly Roll was recently featured on CBS This Morning, and a portion of the interview did feature his Genesee County Jail visit. But wait there is more - Jelly Roll recently testified in front of the United States Senate regarding the fentanyl crisis.
