50 Years of Memories in Flint! White Horse Tavern Has New Owners

The end of an era, and the next chapter is about to be written for one of the area's most iconic places. Flint's legendary White Horse Tavern is passing the torch after an incredible half-century run.

For five decades, the White Horse Tavern has been more than just a place to grab a cold one—it's been a cornerstone of the community, a hub of camaraderie, and a living testament to the rich tapestry of Flint's vibrant culture. Now, the Poulus family is stepping aside and letting new owners continue the tradition.

In a post to social media, owners Chris and Steve Poulos announced the sale of the popular restaurant. They took time to write their thanks to the entire Flint community for their loyalty over the past five decades and the transition process to the new owners saying,  "In the next couple of weeks, Chris and Steve will continue working at the tavern to help the transition to the new owners".

The popular waterhole on Court Street in downtown Flint was originally founded 50 years ago by John Poulos in 1973. His sons were the current owners of the business before the sale. Immediately after the announcement, comments flooded in wishing the family all the best and thanking them for the years of being part of so many memories for those in the Flint community and surrounding areas.

Thank you Poulos family for the memories, and we look forward to continuing with the moments with the new owners! Here's to new beginnings, old memories, and the timeless magic of a place where friends become family and every night feels like a homecoming.
