The US Food and Drug Administration has recalled Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans due to a potentially harmful undeclared allergen.

The Vietti Food Group, based in Nashville, TN, is recalling 4,515 cases of the beans "due to the presence of undeclared soy," which can be life-threatening to those with soy allergies.

Details of the Baked Beans Recall

The recalled beans are sold in 15-ounce cans with a best-by date of February 17, 2028, according to Eating Well.

The affected beans were sold at Walmart, Meijer, Associated Wholesale Grocers, K-VA-T Food Stores, and Hy-Vee.

Consumers Urged Not to Eat Potentially Contaminated Products

If you've purchased the affected beans, you're urged to return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

The FDA says there have been no reported illnesses related to the contaminated beans.

Consuming Soy Can Be Dangerous to Those with Food Allergies

According to WebMD, soy can cause mild stomach and intestinal side effects, such as constipation, bloating, and nausea. In those with allergies, it can trigger more severe reactions, including rash, itching, and breathing problems.
