It's sad to see so many long-running Michigan summer festivals call it quits. But many well-established fairs and events are still going strong thanks to the help from local artists, volunteers, musicians and more as one of the biggest Art Fairs in Michigan gets ready for its 58th annual event.

The Flint Art Fair Celebrates 58 Years

Friends of Modern Art is the organization behind this event going strong for almost 60 years, and the fun all takes place on the front lawn of the Flint Institute of Art in the historic Flint Cultural Center.

The 58th Annual Flint Art Fair happens June 14th and 15th with something for everyone. Over 100 artists will have booths set up featuring: ceramics, glass, painting, jewelry, fiber, metal, mixed media, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood from Michigan and beyond.

Flint Art Fair Offers More Than Just Art

In addition to the amazing works from local artisans, the Flint Art Fair will also feature live music from Dan Devins and the Blues Delegation on Saturday, and the ever-popular Rodeo Drive on Sunday.

In addition to art and music, the Flint Art Fair also provides a variety of food trucks. According to a press release from the Friends of Modern Art, the food vendors will provide 'fresh lemonade, specialty teas, kettle corn, and hand dipped ice cream, to burgers, fries, BBQ, empanadas, crepes, and sandwiches.'

Live Demonstrations at the Flint Art Fair

The FIA's Hot Shop will be demonstrating the art of glass blowing, and there will be a make and take activity for kids, hosted by the Flint Public Library on Saturday. The Detroit-based non-profit, We Are Art, host the activities on Sunday. We Are Art also offers face painting and will have a special free Flint Art Fair themed design available throughout the fair.

Local radio host Jeremy Fenech will be DJing throughout the weekend and broadcast live Saturday from 10am until noon on Cars 108.
