I have literally driven past this home for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Grand Blanc it was that "cool' house everyone was curious about. What did it look like inside? What would it be like to live there?

I'm talking about the stylish modern home on Perry Road known as Mintor Manor. For years the retro-vibe dwelling was as popular as the Auker mansion that was just around the corner. Both homes were some of Grand Blanc's most talked about. As the years went by, the house lost a bit of its luster until someone stepped in the brought all the magic back.

The home hit the market a few years back with an asking price is $599,900.  Jennifer Lasco, owner of Lasco Real Estate Group has the listing and described the home as an,

"Art Deco property in the heart of Grand Blanc... a stunning custom built 1930's Hollywood style 'wedding cake' home".

The home offers just over 5000 square feet of living space and has 4 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms, and 2.49 acres of frontage on the Thread Creek. The sprawling house has everything you need for entertaining including a ballroom and theater space on the lower level.

The home is filled with many updates including the kitchen, but for me, it's all about the decor. The listing provided a glimpse into days gone by with a little flashback preview of its chic interior designs.  Finally, all the drive-by gawkers can cure their curiosity about what lies behind the walls.

Take a look at one of the most notable and talked about homes in Grand Blanc.

A Nostalgic Look Back Inside the Infamous Auker Mansion of Grand Blanc

The big house with the large gates on Belsay Road in Grand Blanc, Michigan has been as mysterious as the man who built the massive 14,000+ square foot home that resembled more of a palace than a Midwest home. The late builder Eldon Auker was known for his creativity and flamboyance on some levels, his mansion reflected every bit of that. With its 20 foot ceilings, majestic staircase, and a 3000 square foot bedroom, the home was a showplace. Sold in 2020, it's hard to know if changes were made to the once amazing estate, but it's exciting to be able to take a little look back in time to what once was.
