How Flint Residents Can Win Big Money Cleaning Up Their Neighborhoods
Attention all Flint neighborhood residents and businesses! The deadline is next week, September 3rd, to sign up for the third annual Step Up, Pick Up community clean up competition.
Sponsored by Communities First, Inc. right here in Flint, this initiative runs from September 3rd to 17th, urging Flint residents to clean up their community as a team and rewarding them with cash prizes!
“One of our goals with this effort is to support groups who do excellent work in their neighborhoods. Neighborhood groups have the possibility of winning prize money that they can use toward neighborhood events and activities that are important to them." -Glenn Wilson, President & CEO of Communities First, Inc.
CFI will be giving away some serious prizes to the top 3 groups who pick up the most trash around their area. Third place gets $250, second place gets $500, and first place wins a whopping $1000!
This year, they are also offering 4 additional $250 prizes to the groups who achieve the following:
1. Most Steps Taken
2. Most Pounds of Cigarette Butts Picked Up and Recycled via Communities First, Inc. and Terracycle
3. Most Dumping Sites Identified and Reported to CFI
4. Most Volunteers for Community Cleanups
