The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has 91 properties to auction off this summer, including lakefront parcels and forest property.

Proceeds from the sales of the properties will be used to buy land to help provide more outdoor recreation opportunities and contribute to the state's land management and conservation plans.

Properties Up for Auction in Michigan

Properties that are being put up for auction range in size from under one acre to 160 acres. According to the DNR, more than 30 of the properties are 40 acres or larger.

The properties that are up for grabs are located in about two dozen counties throughout Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. The auctions will take place between Aug. 2 and Sept. 5, as follows:

  • August 2:  Eaton and Livingston Counties
  • August 6:  Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac Counties
  • August 7:  Dickinson, Houghton, Marquette, Menominee, and Ontonagon Counties
  • August 8:  Crawford, Missaukee, Ogemaw, Otsego, and Roscommon Counties
  • August 9:  Antrim and Charlevoix Counties
  • August 13:  Alpena, Cheboygan, and Presque Isle Counties
  • August 14:  Grand Traverse and Manistee Counties
  • August 21:  Arenac and Midland Counties
  • August 22:  Macomb and St. Clair Counties
  • September 3:  Berrien County
  • September 5:  Genesee County
