Music Fan Missing for 6 Years Found Near Michigan Concert Venue
The remains of a man who went missing six years ago have been found near the site of a popular Michigan concert venue.
Michigan State Police authorities identified the remains of Kevin Graves of Highland Township, who went missing in 2018 after he attended the Electric Forest Music Festival.
Mr. Graves' remains were discovered on Monday, December 30 in a wooded area near Rothbury, Michigan, the site of the annual music festival.
Family Questions Investigation Details
Graves' sister Kellie Graves tells WOOD-TV that her brother's wallet and phone were also found near the site where he went missing. She says this raises questions about how investigators conducted their search six years ago when he went missing.
"My question is where was this six years ago when we said he didn’t just run away? I mean they could have pulled phone records they could’ve pinged his phone," Graves said. "We would not have had to wait 6.5 years for this and it’s really frustrating."
She goes on to say that while the discovery brings closure to her family, it also eliminates hope that he'll one day be found alive.
Cause of Death
MSP investigators have not yet determined the cause of death and say there is no indication of foul play. It could take months to determine Graves' cause of death.
Electric Forest Music Festival
The Electric Forest Music Festival (formerly the Rothbury Festival) is held each year at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan. Rothbury is located about 23 miles north of Muskegon on Michigan's west side.
