According to Lansing's WLNS-TV, Coden-Diskin faces 16 counts of 'unauthorized practice of a health profession. Each is a four-year felony which comes with a $5,000 fine.

She is also being charged with two counts of identity theft, a five-year felony with a $25,000 fine. CBS Detroit reports that she is also being charged with one count of witness intimidation.

The 34-year-old allegedly carried out the fraud for several years. She began her employment with the Oxford Recovery Center in 2018, performing services that required licensing and certifications which she did not have.

Michigan AG to Bring Charges

Coden-Diskin was never licensed by the State of Michigan, which is a requirement under the Michigan Public Health Code.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel notes that Coden-Diskin presented false credentials such as business cards and other documents.

“Regrettably, employers can’t always rely upon what an applicant may represent to them. In many cases, due diligence requires verification of legally necessary qualifications,” said Nessel.  “When circumstances arise that someone misrepresents themselves as a medical professional, my office stands ready to intervene.”
