St Laurent Brothers, or The Nut House as some call it, has been in business since 1904 in Downtown Bay City on the Saginaw River (1101 N Water St, Bay City, MI 48708). It's not far from the Liberty Bridge.
Keep in mind, M&Ms candy has only been around since the 1940s.
Homemade confections and other treats
The fresh smell of homemade candies and fresh nuts fills the air. They have everything from fancy hand-dipped chocolates to covered pretzels.
And homemade suckers & other treats-on-a-stick, homemade peanut butter and a hand-dipped ice cream counter.
Candy Store sold in Bay City, MI
The historical candy shop has been for sale. The long-time owners listed the businesses in the beginning of the year. The asking price is around $1.7 million.
It's an enormous space at almost 22,000 square feet on the Saginaw River.
WNEM-TV 5 reports Jordan Dice, new owner of the Midland Mall, has purchased St. Laurent Brothers and has big plans. The good news, after 120 years, the candy shop isn't going anywhere.
In fact, Dice has plans to open a location inside his newly purchased Midland Mall. It's great to know this sweet piece of Michigan history is still going to serve its fans for years to come.
