Summer is long gone and we are obviously spending more time indoors.  On top of that, I still have a few vacation days to burn through.  I figured that while the kids are at school and my wife is at work, I might as well try to make a dent in cleaning out our basement.

My folks moved to Florida, and we took over their house.  So we have our junk piled on top of their junk (sorry, mom and dad)!!  I found some old cassette tapes and even a pile of these things called carts.

We used carts in radio before computers took over.  They look a lot like 8-tracks, but don't work in an 8-track player.  Trust me... I tried.  A friend of mine called them "ancient mp3s" to which I just had to laugh considering that one cart is as big as a hard drive that could hold literally thousands of mp3s!

I also found some old Atari 2600 video games.  My Atari still works fine and is actually hooked up in the living room next to our Nintendo Wii.  I'm still waiting to have a "Tunnel Runner" tournament with my friend, Josh Strickland, from our sister station in Lansing.  He must be afraid that I will kick his Asteroids!

And after moving a bunch of stuff off of what I thought was a table, I realized that it was our family's long lost Foosball table!  After some cleaning and scrubbing it looks just like new, and my kids absolutely love it!

I just feel bad for the garbage crew who had to pick up quite a bit this week.  And, sadly, there is much more to come!
