A special art exhibit in honor of what would have been the late John Lennon's birthday opens to the public today. The tenth annual display, "Gimme Some Truth, The Artwork of John Lennon," is presented by his widow Yoko Ono and other groups.  Yoko says she prefers to be involved in creating the exhibits, because she's very particular about every piece of John's work that goes up for public viewing.

Yoko adds that "Gimme Some Truth" will teach even ardent fans something new about the Beatles legend.  The exhibit features nearly 100 limited edition drawings and songs from Lennon, including a never-before seen piece entitled "On Cloud Nine."  Organizers say through the collection, viewers will be able to see John as an artist in the truest sense of the word, and get a look into his mind from the days of Beatlemania in the early '60s all the way to his untimely death in 1980.  Lennon would have turned 71 this Sunday.
