Keeping Your Pets Safe In The Heat
Hopefully, all pet owners already know how to make sure that their pet is safe when it gets super hot. However, this is a good reminder that was posted on by the Clinton County Emergency Services on their Facebook page this week.
If you think the heat has affected your pet, here are some signs of heat stress from the American Veterinary Medical Association:
- Anxiousness
- Excessive panting
- Restlessness
- Excessive drooling
- Unsteadiness
- Abnormal gum and tongue color
- Collapse
If you see any of these signs, you should seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Click here to find out more information about how the warm weather may affect your pet from the American Veterinary Medical Association.
