In one fell swoop, the director of the Lapeer Downtown Business Association, the president and the treasurer, all resigned their positions this week. Mary Jo Wenzlick, the DBA director for the past seven years, and a huge advocate for the business district, resigned over the workload, time constraints, and income challenges from the job.

Also resigning this week were president Jeanne McCorkle and treasurer Sherril Hengy. Mary Jo was a contract employee at the DBA and was paid for only 12 hours per week, while typically working 25 to 30 hours on the DBA workload. Expect to see a job opening posted for the position.
