The Lapeer Elks have announced their 23rd annual Thanksgiving dinner for the community will be held at their lodge on East Nepessing next week. The meal takes place on Thanksgiving Day this year and is from 12-3 p.m. according to the Lapeer Area View. The Lapeer Elks Lodge 2567 has been serving a free Thanksgiving dinner for the community for more than 20 years and offers a traditional holiday meal for anyone and everyone who may find themselves without a Thanksgiving.

Two members, Earl Engle and Gary Kalar, have been Elks members for more that 30 years and have been overseeing or volunteering at the Thanksgiving dinners since they first started in 1991. Kalar told the View that "we'd like to see as many as we can get. We enjoy it. The more people, the better." The Elks will also pick people up and deliver meals to people if needed. Anyone interested in either of those options should call the Elks Lodge on Tuesday or Wednesday and speak with Monte. The number is (810) 664-3216.

The Lapeer Elks Lodge is located at 200 East Nepessing Streey, just east of downtown Lapeer. For more information about the dinner, or how to volunteer, call (810) 664-3216.
