Darrell Wayne Bevell is the Detroit Lions' new head coach. He took over for Matt Patricia who did a rotten job and was fired on November 28.

Head Coach Bevell and the Lions came back yesterday versus the Bears. This gave Bevell his first win as a head coach in the NFL. He is the interim head coach for now, but if he wins these games, the Lions ownership will be hard pressed to hire him as their full-time head coach.

Bevell was previously the offensive coordinator for the Vikings and the Seahawks. He also played quarterback at Wisconsin. I saw him play against MSU years ago. He will turn 51 in January and grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. Oh, and he has a Super Bowl ring too.

He became the Lions offensive coordinator last season.

The Detroit Lions will host Aaron Rodgers and the Pack this Sunday at 4:25. The Lions are currently 5-7 and have an outside shot at the playoffs. A very outside shot. Remember, this is still the Lions we're talking about here.
