This probably won't come as a surprise to anybody.

The third annual London Strong 5K Run/Walk, which was set for Thursday, July 23rd, 2020, has been moved to a digital race.

According to the event Facebook page:

We have decided to go virtual with the race this year due to the pandemic of the Covid-19 and it's uncertainty of when and how the restrictions will be lifted. We are saddened to have to do this but due to the situation we feel this is the best option. We are offering the virtual race with an amazing medal and London Strong race shirt! We will be offering packet pickup at Complete Runner (915 Dort Highway Flint, MI 48503) on July 22, 2020 10am-6:30pm. Shipping is available for $4.99 per registration. You will be able to post your time results via Athlinks one week prior and up to two weeks after the original race date of July 23, 2020. We apologize for the inconvenience but we believe it will be just as amazing as it has in the past years. We thank you for all of your support and helping us to help save lives! #LondonStrongSetYourDreams5K

The annual race is a fundraiser for the London Strong Foundation, in memory of Grand Blanc 5th grader London Eisenbeis. She passed away in February of 2018 after going into cardiac arrest at a local waterpark from an undiagnosed heart condition called Long QT Syndrome.

Last year was the first year that I was unable to run the race in person, as we would be visiting family in Iowa. So, I ran it virtually, meaning that you run 5K wherever you're located at for the foundation. It was a beautiful day in Chariton, Iowa when I ran. And I'll participate virtually again this year, too. It's a great race.
