Make Chocolate Covered Holiday Pretzels [PHOTOS]
Who's hungry? Want something sweet, something salty? How about both? If you're looking for a fun, festive inexpensive snack for family gatherings or to send with you kids for school Christmas parties, Jeremy has a great suggestion. You'll need a few bags of pretzel rods, melting chocolate (not chocolate chips), parchment paper, and colored icing.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave as directed. I find that using a measuring cup is less messy than a bowl. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Dip the pretzels in the chocolate, then set them on the cookie sheet about a half inch apart. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for a few minutes to speed up the hardening process.
On another sheet of parchment paper, line up all the pretzels with the chocolate-covered tips in the middle of the paper as shown.
Next, use the colored icing to make several straight lines along the chocolate-covered tips. And that's it, you're all done! Leave them to sit overnight to fully dry, or speed up that process and use the freezer.
This is a fun and easy family activity, and you can change the colors to fit any occasion. Just look at those delicious looking pretzels below!
