I love to help my kids with school projects, especially when a little creativity is involved. This definitely comes through when it centers around music! So when my daughter asked for some help making a musical instrument to take to school, my face lit up!

She decided on a guitar made from an empty tissue box. I must say, the results impressed even me! She picked out a color scheme and layout, my wife helped cover the box with construction paper, then I applied a nice trim with yellow electrical tape. We took a paper towel roll and attached it with paper fasteners.

Finally we strung four rubber bands of varying size around the box, and boom! What's really cool is that you can actually tune it by adjusting the rubber bands! We're a musical family for sure. And as you can see, we love to 'make' music!
