I know, when I first read the headline I was puzzled myself. But after reading more about The Great Marshmallow Drop in Royal Oak, it seems like it's gonna be pretty sweet. This may be the only time you get to see 15,000 marshmallows fall from the sky as they are dropped from a helicopter over Wooden Park in Royal Oak at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 19. The event is for kids and when they find marshmallows, they get a free prize. The event consists of participating kids who will be divided into three different groups:

  • 4 years and younger and individuals with disabilities
  • Children 5-7 years old
  • Children 8-12 years old

Children who attend only need to collect one marshmallow to exchange it for a prize. The event is presented by Oakland County Parks, City of Royal Oak, Vibe Credit Union and Detroit kid City. For more details you can email NawrockiM@oakgov.com or call 248-858-5267.
