Meijer is spending big bucks and plans to build seven new stores and remodel 22 of the current stores.

Meijer is expanding and putting some money into the company as the super center chain announced on Thursday that it plans to expand its business by opening up new stores and remodel multiple stores.

The new stores are expected to create more than 2,000 jobs as the new stores will be built in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Not only will new stores be opening in Michigan, but the Upper Peninsula will finally have a Meijer. The two new locations in Michigan will be in Escanaba and Sault Ste. Marie.

By the end of 2017 Meijer will have a total of 237 stores.
