MI Rep. Dan Kildee Unharmed During Congressional Baseball Game Practice Shooting in VA, Releases Statement
During practice for the annual charity Congressional Baseball game, a gunman opened fire on Congressmen in Virginia this morning. Our Congressman, Dan Kildee, was on a different practice field when he heard the news.
Rep. Dan Kildee has released a statement:
“I am deeply saddened by the horrific shooting at the Republican field during congressional baseball practice. This morning’s violence is absolutely senseless.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Congressman Steve Scalise, staff and police officers who were shot. I am grateful to the U.S. Capitol Police who every day put their lives on the line to keep Members of Congress, our staff and the public safe.”
Every year, since 1909, the Congressional Baseball game has been a bi-partisan fundraiser for Washington D.C. social programs.
