Michigan Cops Hand Out Gift Cards, Not Tickets to Motorists [VIDEO]
Imagine getting pulled over for coasting through a stop sign or going just a few (several?) miles over the speed limit. Then imagine the police officer handing you a Target gift card, rather than a ticket.
That's what happened to motorists in Novi, as police officers decided to spread a little holiday cheer.
"Nobody expects a lot of good things to happen when they get pulled over on a traffic stop," Officer Jerry Webb told WJBK.
The program, dubbed "Kindness is Contagious" enables officers to do something nice -- and unexpected -- for drivers whose lives are already busy and complicated. It's funded by local businesses.
