As COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Michigan, it does not appear that Governor Gretchen Whitmer is considering putting Michiganders on additional restrictions, but one Michigan doctor thinks closing the door into Michigan and additional closures are the best move right now.

Infectious disease Doctor Mathew Sims, told WXYZ that if we (the state of Michigan) want to slow down Coronavirus infections, we need to do the following,

You have to close the door ... restaurants, sporting events, in-person school. I know the governor doesn't want to do that and I know Dr. Khaldun doesn't want to do that. But the thing is our numbers are going up, they're not going down.

Obviously this is not an opinion that everyone shares. I will say again, I am quite surprised Governor Whitmer is showing no signs of agreeing. That being said, you may be in favor of what the good doctor is saying.

Sometimes I wonder if this is ever going to end, and honestly I don't think so - at least not for a very long time. With new variants of the coronavirus popping up, it appears to be a never ending battle. I am also still waiting for my call to get vaccinated. That being said, I am well aware of the reports of people who have been vaccinated still being diagnosed with the dreaded coronavirus.

What do you think? Is your fear level rising along with the increase in COVID-19 numbers, or not so much?
