I wouldn't be surprised in the least to find out there was a zombie apocalypse happening right now. A 22-year-old Lansing man sure thought that what was the case when he was arrested last week in Benzie County.

According to WNEM, A Michigan State Police trooper received a call about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 for a crash involving a deer on Lindy Road near Copemish Road in Colfax Township. It was a passerby who reported the crash.

When he arrived on the scene he found a little more than a smashed car and a dead deer on the road. He came across a man that started running towards him with a machete in his hand. Luckily the 22-year-old (Jordan Lee Cook) dropped the weapon after being instructed to by the police officer.

Michigan State Police:

Cook was making statements that were irrational and he appeared to be under the influence. He spoke of things that were not there and stated he had been fighting off zombies.

While searching the man's vehicle the officer found three unloaded long guns from the trunk.

He was arraigned on Jan. 6 for one count of carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, and one count of operating under the influence. It's unclear what the guy was one while fighting off zombies but I'm sure it was a little more booze.
